First Look: Shakti Film & Lookbook

Shakti ~

I’m in the process of stepping into myself more. But what does that actually mean? For me, it means allowing all the parts of me to work together in balance. In the spiritual community we often talk about our shadow sides, the parts of us we don’t like, the parts dubbed ~bad~. The parts we push down, repress and try to press the delete button on. But we can’t delete parts of ourselves. We are whole living beings. The good and the bad. Instead of trying to shave parts of myself away, I’m learning how to work with them in great unison. Once I allow myself to go where I need to go mentally, spiritually, and physically, I can learn, grow, and evolve into a more whole conscious human being.

Still not catching my drift? There’s a big part of me that is wild, fierce, bright, and bold. Over the last decade, I’ve caught myself holding this fierce lioness back. Quieting thoughts inside and trading my boldness for softness. Gentleness. Don’t get me wrong I’m a huge lover with emotion and compassion pulsing through my veins but I’m also wild, bold, and outspoken and over time I’ve realized I’ve kept my mouth shut when I should have spoken up. Repressed anger into anxiety and allowed hurt people to hurt me back. I’ve tamed my wild bits and pieces to make friends in honor of having people like me and hurting no one’s feelings. I’ve built layers around my being, emotionally and physically because if they can’t see the truth of me, the core power, they can’t hurt me.

But what I’ve realized is, these emotions and perspectives aren’t mutually exclusive. You don’t have to let go of compassion to be fierce. You don’t have to be only humble to be bold. You can wildly accept all the parts of you and allow them to interplay together in a beautiful dance. Speak your mind. But listen to others. Ask for what you want. Apologize when you’re wrong. And above all, attach none of these to your ego, because the essence of you is wildly diverse.

We all build walls around our hearts in different ways. Some act confident and fierce. Some avoid hurting others. Some foster anger for this world. I invite you to ask yourself what are your walls? How can you be aware of them, accept them, and start the gentle process of reprogramming your thoughts patterns? Because if there is one thing I know, you can change your minds dialogue and japa meditation is just beginning of it all.

Mantra ~ I am strong. I am wild. I surrender.

From this realization of complete unity, I birthed a collection of core power, empowerment, abundance, and expansion. Shakti. I spent months pouring my heart and soul into each piece, allowing my creativity to unleash and create from a place of love, truth, and empowerment. I hope you love these jewels as much as I do and find a spark of light, abundance, and truth in these magical creations.

With so much love & light,
Hannah
